Alistratis cave presents many characteristics similar to them of all the big limestone caves. It also presents many differences depended on its place, the thickness of its ceiling and the composition of its fauna.

ABIOLOGICAL PARAMETERS

a) The layers beneath the cave are clayish (terra rosa ). They have been accumulated there with the help of the rain water, carried from the layers above, creating a very thick stratum.
In many places manly in the first chamber, is mixed up with bat-droppings of a thickness of 10 cm.

b) The temperature of the cave is quite high because of the thin layers of the ceiling, the very high temperatures in the summer and the fact that the ground above is " nacked ". In fact, the cave is deviced ihto two temperaturezones:
The zone of changeable temperature and the zone of stable temperature.
